When “wake me when it’s over” isn’t a viable option and the ease of neglecting physical movement is all too tempting, joining Hike & Hibernate for support is a great way to meet your needs for both rest and activity.

Wintertime can be beautiful and amazing–yet a difficult time for many. Having struggled with staying balanced and joyful during the winter months herself, certified yoga instructor, somatic educator, and trauma-informed coach Michelle Wilson has learned some helpful strategies along the way–and she'd love to share with you!

Exploring the synergy of rest and activity during these colder months, Hike & Hibernate is a Radiant Wellness Winter Challenge focused on the benefits of balance in working through winter. Each week, participants will have the opportunity for an outdoor experience (that’s the hike part), as well as deeply restorative movement, somatic, and meditative practices (that’s the hibernate part).

This program is completely online, which means you can participate from anywhere!

About your guide: Michelle Wilson, CHHC, CYT

I'm an all-around nature nerd, book-lover, and believer in possibilities! I thru-hiked the John Muir Trail in California in 2019 with my husband Jay, a 250-mile adventure in which we celebrated our sweaty, mosquito-bitten, dusty 25th wedding anniversary, and I earned the trail name Coconut.

A self-described "freedom nester" (my upgraded term for empty nester), I'm the mom of two 20-something outdoor-loving men, grandma, and a fur mama to our gray stray cat, Calamity. I can be found sauntering around the hills of southwest Iowa, with or without my yoga mat, smelling the flowers, getting muddy, or penning nature poetry.

When I'm not on the trail, I teach yoga workshops and retreats, coach, and practice Reiki. I love to blend seasonal elements into my life and professional work. My passion is supporting others to uncover deep freedom, ease and joy through time in nature, mindful movement, and joyful living!

I have certifications in yoga, mindfulness, nature therapy, and am a somatic trauma healing educator and trauma-informed coach.
